About Elaine WatersElaine Waters began Tai Chi in 1976 with Yang Style Tai Chi Form, and Tai Chi Saber. (Choy Kamman Lineage)
In 1982 her training was accelerated by learning Tai Chi Body Mechanics from Master Wm C C Chen. From Master Wm C C Chen Elaine learned: Tai Chi Form, Applications, Push Hands, Tai Chi Sword Form, Free Fighting. Elaine Waters was certified to teach Tai Chi by Master Wm C C Chen in 1988. From 1989-1991 Elaine Waters spent 4 months each summer living and training with Master Jou Tsung Hwa at the Tai Chi Farm in Warwick New York. FromJou Tsung hwa Elaine the yang style Two-Person Applications Form; Chen style 1st and 2nd routine, Chi Kung, Push Hands. At the Tai Chi Farm, Elaine had the opportunity to train with the many famous Tai Chi Masters including: B P Chan, Hsiang Chen Yu, T K Shih, Daniel Lee. Elaine studied extensively with Master T.K.Shih in Chi Kung and Chi Healing. She was certified to teach Chi Healing by Master T K Shih in 1995. From 1996-1998 Elaine learned Master Fengs’ system of Chen Style Tai Chi from Master Yang Yang and Chen Zhongua. Tai Chi Tournaments Elaine Waters attended A Taste Of China Tai Chi Tournament in Winchester, VA and competed in Tai Chi Yang Style, Tai Chi Sword, Tai Chi Chen Style, and Push Hands 1988 - 1991. Elaine joined the US Tai Chi team and traveled to Taiwan for International Competition where she took first place in Tai Chi Push Hands 1990. Elaine became a Tai Chi Judge and Push Hands Referee at Taste of China Tai Chi Tournament in 1992. She began attending National Tai Chi tournaments to judge, referee and teach Push Hands Workshops. |

Tai Chi Tournaments
Teaching Tai Chi
Elaine taught Tai Chi weekly classes in Fayetteville, AR ; Springfield MO; and Little Rock, AR. from 1990-2000. She currently offers Tai Chi Sword Form Workshops and Push Hands Workshops, and Beginning Tai Chi Workshops in Fayetteville, Arkansas quarterly.
Elaine maintained a Tai Chi school on the beach in Manilla, CA from 2000-2005 where she offered tai chi , chi kung and push hands 6 days a week. Elaine expanded her tai chi classes to include programs for seniors as well as for children. She also traveled regularly to offer tai chi push hands workshops in Eugene, OR and Berkeley, CA. Starting in 2005, Elaine Waters has taught Tai Chi in Colorado including Leadville, Buena Vista, Colorado Springs, Littleton, & Roxborough, Lakewood, Boulder. She offers a weekend push hands retreat in Leadville every year. She also has taught a credited tai chi class for the Colorado Mountain College, in Leadville, CO and Buena Vista, CO. |
