TAI CHI FORMS
BEGINNER LEVEL CLASS Memorize the postures of the Yang Style Tai Chi Form.
Each person memorizes the sequence of tai chi movements at their own pace! While learning a tai chi posture, each element in tai chi is learned separately. Alignment and body mechanics are specific so that the result is effortless power as a soft style martial art. Here you will find the secrets of Tai Chi
explained through the dynamics of Body Mechanics. The Body Mechanics of Tai Chi provide the link between the esoteric Tai Chi principles and modern physical fitness, resulting in movement which uses minimum effort to achieve maximum results. FIRST CLASS IS FREE
AT HEADWATERS SCHOOL LOCATION We will learn the choreographed tai chi routine with "body mechanics" which allow this fluid exercise to be able to be used as a soft-style martial art. The martial arts applicationwillb edemostrated to provide practical understanding of each movement. However, students need to develop a tai chi foundation first. Hopefully, we can add a tai chi push hands and form applications class in the future. This is a beginning level tai chi class that covers the esoteric paradoxes of how soft and fluid movement can be developed over time to include the alignment necessary for practical applications. Elaine Waters instructs all tai chi classes with emphasis on understanding movement principles called tai chi body mechanics. Tai chi body mechanics can be applied to any daily activity. Minimum effort to achieve maximum effect.

TAI CHI PUSH HANDS:
Tai Chi postures are exchanged in push hands in a dynamic and spontaneous interaction.
|
In Tai Chi Push Hands players exchange moves attempting to cause a loss of balance.
Tai Chi is based on a system of non-aggression. Tai chi uses leverage, yielding, and softness to allow the opponent to lose their own balance! TAI CHI PUSH HANDS
In tai chi push hands, we attempt to put into action, the strategies of the Taoist classics.
Softness overcomes hardness, doing less is more, and we use minimum effort to attain maximum effect. Push hands emphasizes the value of yielding and relaxing, and the disadvantage of resisting and using tension. |
